If meeting in person isn’t an option, LWTG offers a way for you to play, learn, and explore in the comfort of your own home. Our online class is open to the whole family with older children and caregivers welcome to join in and play along with us. The online class includes:

Weekly Circle Time via Zoom; includes 30-40 minutes of songs, stories, felt board, movement and other activities
Art Supply Kit that includes useful supplies for creating masterpieces at home (scissors, glue stick, paint brush, etc.)
Quarterly Art Cart Bag with materials and easy-to-follow instructions

scholastic book club

During the school year, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase books through LWTG’s Scholastic Book Club. Scholastic book orders are a great way to add many amazing, competitively priced books to your home collection. Added bonus: every order earns points for LWTG to use toward Library books and prizes. Follow the steps below to register, browse titles, and place your order.

Go to the Scholastic Book Club web page.
Register with a username and password.
Select Lake Washington Toddler Group from the school dropdown menu and Kris Anderson as the teacher. Teacher Kris is our designated teacher regardless of who your teacher is.
Choose to have your books shipped to your home or to the school.

checkout procedures

FOR INDOOR CLASSES

Follow the Checkout Procedures posted in the Library.
Borrow a Book Buddy Bag to carry your children’s books to and from LWTG.
Keep track of the books that you borrow by snapping a photo for reference.
Do not re-shelve books; just return them to the Library’s Book Return bin.

FOR OUTDOOR CLASSES

Parenting Books

Look over the LWTG Library Online Book Catalog and select your book(s).
Fill out the Online Book Request Form.
If the book is available, it will be prepared for you to pick up. If not available, you’ll be added to a wait list.
You’ll receive an email confirmation when your book(s) is ready.

Children’s Books

Children’s books are available for check-out as curated Book Buddy Bag.
If you would like to request a specific type of children’s book (i.e., New Baby, Big Sister, Potty Training), use the Online Book Request Form.

Book Pickup

Books can be picked up during the first full week of each month on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:30am-12:30pm or outside of these hours by emailing our Librarian.

Book Returns

Drop books in the Book Return bin during the first full week of each month on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday from 9:30am-12:30pm.

spring quarter 2025 tuition

Tuition is paid three times a year – Fall, Winter and Spring – and is due two weeks before the start of each quarter.

First child $175
Add a sibling 12 months or younger as of 08/31 +$50
Add a sibling older than 12 months or a twin as of 08/31 +$120
Add a caregiver +$25

If the enrollment fee or tuition will be a hardship for your family, please consider applying for a Fee Waiver or the Julie Hagel Scholarship (see below). For more information, please email our Registrar.

grief resources for you & your family

Death is one of the hardest subjects to talk about with young children, especially when you’re struggling with your own sorrow. However, children will need your help to understand it. Amy Mikkelson joined the staff of LWTG in 2010. Prior to joining our staff she taught at Redmond Toddler Group for five years. Amy is a Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Michigan. Before LWTG, Amy taught childbirth and early parenting at Evergreen Hospital and also worked in pediatric nursing. Amy attended Lake Washington Toddler Group as a parent and was a parent coordinator.

Raised in the mid-west, Amy lived around the U.S. before settling in the Seattle area with her husband and two adult sons.

Kym Meade joined the teaching staff at LWTG in 2012. Previously, Kym was a parent and board member at Redmond Toddler Group, as well as a parent and board member at Kirkland Cooperative Preschool, both sister schools to LWTG. In addition to being on the staff at LWTG, Kym also taught the Group I class at KCP from 2008 to 2024.

Kym has a BA and a BS from Washington State University. She grew up in the area and is married with adult two children.

remembering teacher kris

Samantha Powers joined the LWTG teaching staff in 2025. She is a former LWTG parent and board member. Prior to LWTG, Samantha taught inclusive preschool in the Lake Washington School District.

Samantha earned her Masters in Early Childhood Special Education from the UW and became a National Board Certified teacher in 2021. She grew up on the Eastside and now lives in Kirkland with her husband, two young daughters and two cats.

Kris Anderson joined our teaching staff in August 2000 and this year announced her retirement after 25 years at Toddler Group! Kris' contributions to LWTG are impossible to measure. We are so grateful for her dedication and service to our community.

In March, Kris entered Hospice care and on June 25, 2025, Kris died from colon cancer. Please visit her tribute page Remembering Teacher Kris to learn more about the life of this amazing mother, teacher and friend.

The Preschool Fair is held in January every year, giving parents and caregivers a chance to meet with over 40 preschools from various Eastside cities – all at once – in preparation for next Fall's enrollment. Attendees can speak directly to teachers and receive information about tuition and fees, class schedules, educational philosophy, and more.
